These little bells are great. It's the most harmless way to let people know you have their back. Additionally, since everyone is a cyclist these days, you'll find yourself 1) yelling a lot and 2) interacting with people who don't know right from left ("No, ANOTHER left!” swerve, fall, broken elbow). A little "ding" is loud enough to be heard through headphones (most, but if they can't hear you, they wouldn't hear you scream either) and everyone thinks there's an adorable little kid behind them, what is beautiful. . A metal bell with a plastic mallet and bracket seemed flimsy at first, but so far these bells are worth the money with multiple uses for 5 trips a week. Keep in mind that these are a "single dig" type, not a ratchet type, so they're a bit softer and take a few hits to wake up the zombies.
