Excellent chisels despite the opinions of internet forum snobs. You have the potential to work wonderfully. Out of the box they are very easy to use. But if you want to get the best out of them, they need to be properly aligned and sharpened. The steel used is very hard. This means they are prone to damage if dropped or even chipped if sharpened and misused. Solid steel is great when set up properly. The very thin cutting edge protects against chipping and will keep these chisels sharp for a very long time once properly sharpened and you only need to touch up the dressing from time to time. Line up the backing and sharpen the bevel to 6000+ grit using water stones or the finest sandpaper you have (on a flat surface). Then sand and/or polish with a fine grit (green works well). The shape and size of the handle is very good, the handles are very durable. If you drop them, the edge will be damaged. In my daily work I have more than 50 chisels, mostly old and antique, made by great masters. They serve the same purpose as all the chisels on this wall. Enjoy.
