Really good temperature controller; easy to set up. I didn't need high and low temperature alarms, so I set the values to the upper and lower limits of their respective ranges. I found the specified temperature accuracy to be very good; Shift was not necessary. I've seen reviews complaining about the temperature error. To check accuracy, attach the tip of the controller's temperature probe to the tip of a reference thermometer, then immerse it in cold and then warm water. If there is an inaccuracy, program the offset. I use mine with a meat smoker and there is always a temperature difference because the probes are in slightly different places in the smoker; even if they are a few inches apart.
