Review on WILLBOND 2 Pairs Bicycle Feet Strap Pedal Straps for Fixed Gear Bike: Secure and Comfortable Cycling Accessory by Edward Gordon

Helped me understand that I don't want to give up clips

Like many cyclists, I fell for the siren song of more efficient pedal travel and the horrible prospect of losing efficiency. However, I mostly drive long distances and commute to work, so I don't need speed. I couldn't bring myself to pull the trigger on the shoes, pedals, and clampless ride settings (you know, the clicking in the boots). I thought about it and said that such straps should be a good approximation of the clampless ones, so after $10 I gave them a try. Pros: They are easy to install and adjust. Fraying from wear and tear (not really an issue as you're looking for a good fit and it's a matter of taste. Also two sets so you have a backup). I tried them at the old college. Once you get used to putting your feet in the straps (flipping them over by kicking them), they work well. You can efficiently get good tail lift and top spin (if you're so inclined to focus on your pedaling motion). They were good for what they were meant to be. However, I had to part with these things. I've found that I don't use them and they just hang under my pedals and scratch the floor because like I said I don't want to ride without clips. On a tour you often stop, take pictures and disembark. Bicycle. Those straps were another thing to look out for along with the map, mileage, direction and finding a good campsite. If you're wondering if you want to go without clips without spending hundreds of dollars, give these belts a try.
