After reading countless reviews I've come to the conclusion that when it comes to finding the perfect watering can, it all comes down to "you pay your money and you take the risk". Still, my first impression of the kettle is that it's a winner. The jug heats up relatively quickly and the handle stays cool. The thermometer has a larger outer scale in degrees Celsius and smaller equivalent degrees in degrees Fahrenheit on the inside. Although it is listed as 1.2L, it is recommended that only 1.0L of water be used. This results in the water level being about 1 1/2 inches below the top of the kettle. For me, that's more than enough to fill my carafe and not squirt water out the spout as another reviewer mentioned. One caveat: the top has three steam holes in the lid next to the thermostat. Attempting to remove the lid while fumes are escaping the vents can result in a nasty burn.
