Two pieces of bamboo had slight cracks before I started building but this doesn't seem to affect the integrity of the structure. Easy to assemble, I mean it's only 4 screws, except for the head of the screw, the hex key broke off halfway through the first screw. Nbd, I have a multifunction hex wrench handy. One of the screw holes was drilled at a slightly wonky angle, but it still works and the screw hole kind of hides it. The biggest problem is that when I first used it (as a footstool) the top of the bench tried to pierce my foot with a 4" shard. I've since covered the top in vinyl, but I don't want a kid getting pierced with a spike like that. Bamboo is dry so if you buy it, be prepared to cover it before use or face the consequences.
