I've been using Fitbit since the first HR charger came out. In contrast, I used to use hr2 loads. I was so excited to switch to the 'smart' Fitbit when it was released, but forced myself to work on it. After losing the £10 I promised myself I bought the opposite. Day 1 of use and HR is very off. I went on a vigorous hike and my heart rate never exceeded 120 bpm. I did the same hike with the Charge 2 and it tracked much more accurately, sometimes over 150 bpm. At first I thought, gosh, my Charge2 was wrong the whole time, but then I checked my heart rate and found I was in the 140 bpm range. At home I searched all the forums to see if others had this problem. and it seems the new Charge 3 is to blame too. Some argue that longer battery life takes precedence over heart rate accuracy, while others suggest that the number of sensors has been reduced from 2 to 1. Anyway, I'm so disappointed in Fitbit that it doesn't address these issues. I've been a loyal user since 2014 and will keep coming back until Fitbit can launch a new reliable product.
