My son threw up in my shoes which resulted in me running barefoot to the mega store to buy a spare pair for Thanksgiving. This pair lasted a whole month when I decided to just order them. After the last incident, I didn't want anything too expensive. I am very pleasantly surprised by these shoes. I'm half your height and I went up. As a woman with a modest foot size, I love that there is a plus size option! The color is very nice, just what I wanted. I also admit that I'm an adult, but I still wear my tennis shoes. They are perfect for people like me and don't look like panties. I work two jobs: in a clinic and in a retail store. I've struggled with shoes that don't provide enough support and really hurt my feet, but these shoes have thick soles and I've had no problems. My only complaint is that there is almost no additional arch support. So if you're a foot-rolling person, you definitely need the insoles. This isn't a problem if you've already worked the arch, but you won't feel the impact of the arch in these shoes. These shoes are breathable but not transparent. If you can't find your socks one of those mornings, no one will know. They are supportive and comfortable. Overall I am very happy with this purchase.
