Review on GOXT Direct Plug Bluetooth/FM Transmitter: Enhanced Car Audio Connectivity, 18843 by Michael Custodio

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Works well, ideal for a traveler or an old car. Simple and intuitive.

Note: My photos have a quarter for size reference. One of my cars (a 2007 Prius) has a very good audio system, but a very basic (old) bluetooth system that only works for phone calls. 14 years later I finally found a great BlueTooth solution for this device. It simply plugs into a car socket (I connected a 3 port expander which also has a phone charger and satellite radio). . Setup was easy and intuitive, and I didn't have to refer to the included instructions at all. It has two USB ports that can be used as phone chargers, but one of them can play music from a USB stick. This function is very primitive - it only plays songs in order, folders cannot be used. The only time I've found this useful is when you were somewhere without an internet connection and didn't have any music on your phone to play. I set this to the same channel as my Sirius tuner and just turned the Sirius tuner off. when i use it. While Sirius works well, it doesn't work in the Holland Tunnel, which I often drive through. Always I'm in an important part of the star when I walk into the tunnel and miss something that I'm sure would change my life if I heard it. With this adapter I can listen to the most important program while driving through the tunnel. I will update this post if it changes my life. Surprisingly, when my phone rings and I answer it via the Prius dashboard, it switches Bluetooth to auto, and then when I hang up, this unit picks up again and all. I listened to the phone games. I've seen other reviews mention the need for a reset/reconfiguration when starting the car. On the contrary, it works great for me without a reset or reconfiguration. When I turn off the car, to my amazement, my Sirius or Spotify stops playing, I run errands at the store, and when I turn on the car, the device announces it's connected through my car stereo. and then the last thing I played on my phone starts playing right where it left off. When it comes to travel, every car I've rented over the years has Bluetooth. I've often found other people transferring their contacts into the car's system. While it is often sufficient to simply set up the rental car's Bluetooth system to work with your phone, this device certainly does the trick and for me at least it stayed programmed to the same transmit signal that I used in my car, hence the rental tuning All Auto had to do was turn on the radio and tune into a station. Of course, the quality of a phone conversation with the interlocutor is not as good as with car bluetooth, since there is no dedicated microphone aimed at the driver, as is the case with car bluetooth, but it is acceptable for calls on the road. I'm impressed with this little device; It works really well, it's easy to set up, and it does exactly what it's designed to do. I also like that the company name is on the product; I've found that with fairly common replacement products, if the company name doesn't appear on the product, that means they were up for a quick sale and aren't trying to build long-term customer loyalty and don't want to be found if there's a problem. with the product. Conversely, when I see a brand on a similar product, it lets me know that the company is proud of the product, wants to create a brand, and isn't trying to hide from customers.

Pros
  • Large fit for me
Cons
  • No instructions
