You'll get close to those minor scratches, but 800 to 1000 is better for the same task.
The stones are excellent but for the 1500-2200 grit I expected that they would give a near finished edge well before the 'burn in' time. There are some ultra high cut diamonds on these stones which leave very visible scratches, I was expecting a more polished/matte look from this set.
