Netgear Kicks Butt R6300 Router

My new Netgear R6300 router is a bit bulky and expensive, but its footprint is actually small since this router is mostly vertical. It's more expensive than many Cisco/Linksys home routers, but its build quality and performance are excellent in comparison. Installation: The installation of this router went smoothly with clear instructions and networking software to get you the hang of it. Installation areas to consider. My setup included multiple wired Ethernet ports and about half a dozen Wi-Fi connected devices including iPads, iPhones, Droid phones, a wireless printer, and a TiVo network connection. All of them have been added to the network safely and easily with a conveniently placed Wi-Fi Protected Setup button that initiates a 2-minute window for any WPS-enabled device to join the wireless network. Performance: Without even looking at the new high-speed 802.11ac capabilities, the basic 802.11n features are better than any of the few home routers I've had, with both higher performance around the house and greater network stability (since not dropped). initial installation). I give this router a big plus in that regard and I'm dying to try one of the 802.11ac wireless network cards as soon as I get one. Everyone on the network is happy with the performance of this new router, and everyone agrees that speed and signal strength are noticeably better whether you're using an older iPad with 802.11g Wi-Fi or the latest KFHD with 802.11n Wi-Fi is more stable.. stable even in the backyard where there is a house between the signal source and the receiving device. Other Views: CNET gave this router high marks in a June 2012 review, but downgraded it for being bulky, ugly, and power-hungry. The device I have works great, is attractive, takes up little space and didn't break a single switch! I give it my best rating.
