I have a 2015 Jeep Cherokee and it will not fit. When the lid is closed it clicks and stays on until I go to fill up after replacing the old one. This time it looks like it's tight and clicky, but you can easily remove the cap. I end up driving to a car dealership near a gas station to get a replacement. If you decide to buy one, save your old cap for a few refills before throwing it away. Unfortunately, I threw mine away, assuming everything was fine. Edit: The company was quick to respond and fixed the issue by offering a full refund or replacement. I opted for a full refund because I bought a replacement from a dealership. The company said it conducted a survey based on my feedback and surveyed 2015 Jeep Cherokee buyers. They haven't reported any problems similar to mine. I believe this is not a common problem. The content I left on the product page might make everyone think this is a common problem. My item may be defective.
