Doesn't quite fit

The mirror itself seemed good and the instructions I found on the internet were quite easy. But the gasket that came with the replacement mirror wasn't flexible enough to hold the mirror firmly to the door. I don't know if it's losing water now (but why not?), but I do know it seems to "whistle" more than the old one. I left the old gasket and can replace the gaskets. I would be willing to spend a few bucks more for a better product if I knew it actually is better. All in all, I'm not surprised that this came as part of the ongoing debacle of everything and everyone. .
