A major hurdle is nowhere in the instructions on how to "charge" the batteries. I literally unscrewed all the screws and disassembled the timer to figure out where the battery compartment was - realizing that this would be easier to do "after the fact" if I only had graphical and written instructions on how to insert the batteries. Second time on a product that is missing one of the most basic pieces of information. Once assembled with batteries, it works great...effectively with a spectacular "ringtone"...and, as mentioned, loves big numbers.
