I bought this skimmer because I was tired of replacing the wooden air blocks used on air pumped nano skimmers like Biocube protein skimmers. I started the pump on the highest setting but it spits out a lot of microbubbles, same goes for average flow. So I called him all the way and gave him a 10 day break and he skimmed with no problem. The noise level isn't that bad, but it's noticeable and overshadows it after a while. What I don't like is that it was designed primarily for rimless tanks. Anyway, I managed to get mine to fit under the rim of the tank. I use this in a JBJ 29 gallon nano tank (modified). I give 5 stars overall because it works the way I want it to. I would like a place to put it in the back chamber of the aquarium but there is no space. It's not pretty to see in an aquarium, but I've sacrificed aesthetics for the need to filter my tank. I would buy it again if I need it in the future.
