The original lids are torn from use in the freezer.

That's what I expected: new caps. The original covers are cracked; a likely consequence of entering and exiting the freezer. I can't say I have any other expectations for these lids, but I might try taking the containers out of the freezer to thaw the contents before opening the lid right away (hoping the lids are less prone to cracking are). .
