Works great but difficult DIY repair. Not for everyone.

Genuine or not (probably the newest), this replacement screen did a great job repairing a 2016 Mac Book Pro for less than half the cost of a professional screen replacement. BE WARNED. Screen replacement is not an easy task. The most important thing is to make sure you have the right tools. A standard home tool kit will not suffice. Apple has made sure its products are as PITA-friendly as possible for anyone who wants to do their own repairs. As well as some fairly common Torx screwdrivers (T3, T7, T8) you will also need 4PL and ST1 which are unlikely to be found in most tool kits. Resist the temptation to go around the missing driver with flatheads or any other fake tool - you'll blow heads off and find yourself in a world of pain. Other items that will be very helpful are precision tweezers, a non-conductive spatula, some suction cups (to remove the backing), and a pill box or something to keep all those (very) tiny screws organized. If you drop one on the floor. The game is over! I also recommend that you have a good ESD safe workspace with good lighting and a magnifying lamp. Remember to disconnect the battery before removing the screen. There are many good step-by-step guides on YouTube that you can follow. With the right tools and plenty of patience, your MacBook will be as good as new. If any of this scares you, don't do it. take it to a pro.
