Updated: Latest Firmware Cuts Throughput in Half (Solved) + Tuning Info

Bought to route my xfinity at 1.3Gbps over 10GbE WAN LAN ports. Was working great until I updated the firmware to version 1.6 and the throughput dropped by half. I couldn't do anything to improve performance. You can download older firmware but you can't use it because the UI says you already have a newer version. Support ticket opened but no response from qnap. WLAN also works great, but the range is very limited. Really decent router but they need to fix the firmware. Update: Worked with QNAP (they contacted me a few days later) to confirm the performance issue was with their firmware. They were able to confirm that version 1.6.4 broke the 10GBe port. After about a week of talking/testing with them, they released 1.6.5 yesterday. They asked me to take a test and it passed. I reverted to 1.3Gbps throughput from my ISP on my LAN using a QNAP 2.5Gb managed switch and a Netgear CM2000 Docsis 3.1 modem with Xfinity 1Gbps service. In any case, I hope this information helps. QNAP was very interested and extremely responsive. I trust them. Installation Note: I read some other reviews and my installation experience was slightly different. The default IP address is 192.168.100.1, which is the same address as my modem. I did that.1. Connected the QNAP 301 router to my switch and NOT to the modem. Activated my desktop with IP address 192.168.100.X. Then I connected with a browser under 100.1 and got the configuration interface. I skipped all the setup scripts and went straight to the menu screen.2. Click the NETWORK menu on the left, and then click the Port Definition menu. On this screen, the drop-down menu changes to WAN Gbe Port 1.3. Then click on NETWORK and VLAN. You will see the default VLAN marked with -. Click on the configuration button next to the recycle bin and you will get a screen to change the IP address and DHCP settings. I switched to my LAN which is NOT 192.168.100.x. Use 10.x or 50.x or whatever your local network is.4. Connected 10Gbe port 1 of router to 2.5Gbps modem port and connected 10Gbe port 2 to my QNAP multi-GB switch, which has 8 2.5Gbps ports and 2 10Gbe/SPF+ ports (great switch).5. Reset my windows workstation with 2.5 gigabit ethernet port on motherboard to dhcp and reboot router to connect to internet. Log in to the router and check on the router dashboard if the internet was green.7. I ran xfinity speedtest.net a few times and came back with the following results: PING ms12 DOWNLOAD Mbps1317.87 UPLOAD Mbps41.87 Hope this helps. The WLAN range is also significantly better for me with 5 GHz than with 2.4. In general, WiFi 6 works great. For your information. This is the only solution I could find that would allow me to take full advantage of a 1Gb+ network from a LAN perspective, at a reasonable price and with the right features. Even the latest Linksys Wifi 6E mesh system only has a multi-Gb port on the WAN side, and WIFE 6 is capable but only has 1Gb ports on the LAN side.
