The slide mechanism will loosen up a little after a bit of use, but if you keep your thumb on the latch when inserting, a good connection guaranteed . Sometimes when I forget the mechanism or maybe don't fully deploy and lock, I have to fiddle around a bit. I don't usually think about it and have no problems, so it could be me or just some ports that have higher resistance when inserting.
