Update: whitening problem solved and great customer service from the company!

The original bleaching question: when I press the steam button, my fabrics are bleached! I won't be returning it until I've exhausted all troubleshooting ideas otherwise I like the iron. I don't know if there's something in the water cut that's causing this, so I'll do a self-clean and see if it clears. UPDATE: Please follow the self-cleaning procedure before using the iron. Process. This will remove any residue inside the water resonator that may have caused discoloration. It's also quite a drain on electricity, so be aware wherever you plug it. UPDATE: The company saw my review here and contacted me to help resolve any issues I was having with the iron. They have provided excellent customer service and I am happy with that. Pros: *Heavy so I don't have to press down to iron. * Heats up quickly. * Easy to use controls. Cons: * So far this has left bleached marks where the steam comes out when I press the steam button. (see my attached photo). *I have to use a heavy duty extension cord to plug into the GFI outlet in the kitchen because it is putting too much power on one of my other outlets. If you have an old house with old wiring, make sure you have a good outlet that doesn't use a lot of other electrical equipment. Ideally, a line capable of running an air conditioner, refrigerator, or other high-drain device. Do not use it at the same time as other high-power electrical appliances such as microwave ovens, hair dryers, etc.

Pros
  • Ideal for a small home
Cons
  • Weak set
