This mandrel is suitable for circular saws with holes of different diameters. The blades I use have a 1000" diameter mounting hole. The registration ring on my mandrel (fortunately or unfortunately) for the 1" mounting hole is .994" diameter. Such a large gap is for wood and Plastic acceptable but too large for metal, especially steel, as it will cause the blade to shift and attempt to cut more material than the machine/equipment can allow, causing the machine to stop and/or possibly Gear breakage between motor and spindle Also the runout (MT2 shank/1" register ring) on my shaft (again - lucky you, yours will probably be different) is about 0.009".
