This Helping Hands Set is a huge upgrade! My previous helping hands have been the traditional type with two short, articulated metal arms and a weighted base. They slid all over the table and the handles were limited in flexibility being metal and it was awkward trying to use two of them which required more than two alligator clips. On the other hand, this set features long, flexible plastic arms made entirely of ball joints that can bend in an almost infinite number of ways. It has four legs, which is very convenient, especially if, for example, you need to hold a waterproof rubber sleeve in addition to the parts to be soldered. It attaches to the table so slipping is no longer a problem. The removable wrap around the teeth of the alligator clips is also comfortable to the touch and protects delicate surfaces. Because it includes two extra clips and allows you to change clips without tools, you can easily leave some with rubber shrink wrap and others without and replace them as needed. All in all a great and very useful product!
