I mean how hard is it to design and build a D-handle machine screw that works the way you want it to? This is because the D-ring that attaches to the screw head is so loose that it actually prevents the mounting plate from attaching to the bottom of the camera. The whole idea was to have a screw that didn't require a hex wrench to install and remove. But. you have to try a bit to align and rotate the screw head with the D-ring as it keeps getting stuck and you can't tighten it. Eventually you get past that point and all is well, but wouldn't it be easier to just have a design that isn't so loose? Still better than losing Allen.
