I do a lot of presentations and this is my third Logitech presentation remote that I have bought in the last 5 years. The first two (5 year old red laser model and 2 year old green laser model) still work, but I really liked the idea of the "spotlight" feature on this remote. Some of my presentations run on 70 inch flat screens, not projector screens, and laser pointers are useless if you're trying to point them at a TV screen. I got this Spotlight remote last week and have had the chance to use it a few times already. In a word, it's AWESOME. Easy to use and I love how the controls can be customized through the software (e.g. what should happen if you press and hold the next key or the previous key and whether the pointer should just "highlight" or you would prefer to get bigger or fit the circle on the screen). I also wanted to point out that there is another review here stating that this remote control is not compatible with PowerPoint's presentation mode (where the presenter can see the current slide, next slide, presentation notes and a timer on their laptop, but the audience only sees the current slide on the projector) I haven't encountered this problem. I ALWAYS use presentation mode with my laptop and this remote works fine in presentation mode on my MacBook Pro so I'm not sure if Logitech recently fixed the issue or if the other reviewer might have something else with their computer that is interfering with them Remote control to work with PowerPoint.
