Bought my house 3 years ago and comes with 3 ceiling fans from Home Depot (Hampton Bay). Two had remote controls and the third had a wall mounted remote control holder but it did not have a remote control. I figured the previous owner of the house must have broken or lost it, so I bought it. I've tried all sorts of DIP switch settings, but none of them worked. I opened up one of the other fan remotes to see what position the microswitches were in and used that to program this remote. Worked fine but not for the 3rd fan. A few weeks ago I was working in the garage and found a bag of stuff that belonged to the previous owner of the house. And what do I find? Ceiling fan remote control receiver. My fan does not have a receiver. This remote control is perfect for Home Depot's Hampton Bay ceiling fan, but only if it has a receiver. Now I need to refresh my electronics skills. I have to remember circuit breaker!
