It just works! Best in Remote Controls

My old fan remote stopped working all the time - buttons were being pressed or skipped - when it worked it was always an adventure when it worked again. This allowed us to turn the fan off when it was cold and then get frustrated because we couldn't turn the fan on when it was hot. Enter this remote control. Turn on fan? Do you understand. Out of? No problem. Oh do you want light? Of course. What, no reverse? That is unnecessary. Very happy with the purchase.

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • Almost never

Works, but be careful

This replacement works just like the old broken one. It was easy to set up. Simply open the battery compartment, set the DIP switches to match your old remote and insert the battery. The problem is that the position of the dip switches is such that if you put a battery in the remote (like we've all done hundreds of times before) the dip switches are flipped to the wrong settings and of course the remote then it doesn't work. So be careful when installing the battery or just close the cover if…

Great great great!

If you have an old non-reversible Hampton Bay fan remote and the remote buttons don't work anymore, it's a bomb! Works great and cheap! So happy with that. I was trying to fix an old one and gave up buying a famous brand but when I stumbled across this one and read the reviews I bought it. I plan to buy a few more for our other fans (their remotes still work because they haven't been used as extreme as the ones I just replaced, but I'd like to have them on hand in case the other one fails…

Pros
  • looking forward to it
Cons
  • too dumb

Works perfectly! fits ceiling fans and accessories

My original Hampton Bay remote stopped working after 16 years; It still runs on the fan but not the light. The red LED on the remote got very dim even with a new battery, I don't know if it was just the remote or the receiver or both. I took a chance and just bought a remote control, put in DIP switches, and now it works! Saved me from replacing the receiver in the fan. However, note that the DIP switches in the replacement remote are upside down compared to my original remote, be careful of…

Pros

Make sure your fan has a receiver

Bought my house 3 years ago and comes with 3 ceiling fans from Home Depot (Hampton Bay). Two had remote controls and the third had a wall mounted remote control holder but it did not have a remote control. I figured the previous owner of the house must have broken or lost it, so I bought it. I've tried all sorts of DIP switch settings, but none of them worked. I opened up one of the other fan remotes to see what position the microswitches were in and used that to program this remote. Worked…
