Review on Sony WIC400/L Wireless Behind-Neck In-Ear Headphones, Blue by Celina Rosiska ᠌

Poor quality, not worth the money.

Purchased to replace a Sony SBH80 headset that had been used for four years until it finally gave out. If it was still available to purchase, I would do it without hesitation. Superb sound quality, I was able to hold two devices at once, including a phone and a PC, and it was so light that there were moments when I forgot I was even wearing it. I strolled all throughout the apartment, and there were no disruptions in the communication system even though the sound insulation was excellent and had a long range. This model did not live up to my expectations in any way. If someone is only interested in purchasing this model as wireless headphones, then this option would be suitable for them. The sound is very regular, and it is quite simple to connect to both a phone and a computer. Yet, it cannot in any way function as a headset because of its design. To begin, when we are having a conversation over the phone, my interlocutor goes silent for a fraction of a second every ten seconds, and they inform me that they can only sporadically hear me as well. Second, for some reason the sound of my microphone is communicated to my headphones; specifically, I am able to hear very clearly whenever the hoop of the headset that contains a microphone comes into contact with the collar of my shirt. It would appear that the interlocutor also hears it. I didn't try it out on the street, but I imagine that all of the background noise will make it nearly impossible to have a conversation there. Thirdly, the sound of the microphone is strongly transmitted to the headphones when the headset is connected to a computer as a headset. When this occurs, the only noise that can be heard is the noise coming from the user's own microphone. As a result, as a stopgap measure, I configured Skype on the laptop such that the built-in microphone of the laptop would be used, and the sound would be sent to the headphones attached to the headset. But, this is not at all why I purchased this headset because it prevents me from moving away from the computer when I am having a conversation. This is not a problem with your hands being in the wrong position in any way; in Windows, the sound transmission from the microphone to the headphones is disabled; the problem is that the microphone is designed in such a way that as soon as it turns on, it immediately broadcasts the sound to the headphones. This issue presents itself on both the phone and the computer; the magnitude of the issue varies depending on which device you use. Overall, a poor product, which I returned to the store after spending two days attempting to make some kind of adjustment to it in some way. I'm going to take a peek at what's on Ali.

Pros
  • sound that is typical
Cons
  • not usable as a headset in any way (see comment) Plastic is inexpensive, and one can make do with it.
