Got this camera the other day. Setup was pretty easy. Please note that you need 8 AA batteries and an SD card for operation. I use cameras more to monitor my property for security than for hunting. I installed it while looking at the forest/path behind my property. The camera takes very clear pictures. I would post them, but mostly my kids and dog. My kids thought they saw a big foot in a blue t-shirt but it was just their dad. Luckily I could see if the chamber was airtight. It was in the forest during the incessant torrential rain. I went out to check it out after the storm and the inside was completely dry. So, yes, it's waterproof. Attachment: A long strap (about 50 inches) is included to attach it to a tree. There are some plastic "spikes" on the back of the device that give it a little more grip on the bark. Also included is a mounting bracket that allows you to mount it to a fixed structure such as a shutter, tree stand, porch or house siding if you prefer. There is also a locking ring on the back if you wish to secure the card/camera with a padlock. I recommend this device as a good compact camera. He does what he advertises.
