Sailed long distances in the sea for many years. I finally bought this buoy after joining a swim group and seeing other people using it. It's a great product and fills a real need. Everything here feels solid, works well, and is adjustable. I ride my bike in a shoulder bag to the beach. I keep it deflated to allow water to get in (to get through the waves) and can easily blow it up if I'm far enough away. The waistband is easy to adjust, I wear it a bit looser so I can move front to back easily. On my return I will be blown away before I come back through the surf. For me, my finger is small enough to press on the valve to deflate, but others may have to use one of the pins on the clasp (or wait until shore). The advantage is that the non-return valve cannot accidentally leak when you take the cap off while swimming. You can also roll up the top of the buoy to make it shorter and adjust the line longer or closer to your body. It changed my swimming and made it MUCH safer. Rescuers can actually see me. This might be the most glowing review I've ever left on a product!
