A standard duplex socket has two sets of male pins, one for each socket. The "active" or live pins are made from standard metal, while the "fake" ones are made from the most fragile plastic junk imaginable. If the "dummy" pins weren't made out of cheap plastic, this product would be worth the money. After you put it in a standard container, the plastic pins broke off immediately without even entering the container. This caused the device to fall at a 30 degree angle as the only thing holding it in place were the metal pins on the underside in a socket. To really make this device work, I rotated the socket (top to bottom) so that the active "pins" were up. This actually works well, except that if you point something at it (like a night light) it will reverse due to the reverse polarity of the plug (neutral and hot). What a stupid way to save 5 cents. does such a shitty part.
