I had a tiny 5-10 gallon air pump for my 20 gallon tank. To be honest it worked but eventually broke. I had a couple of old pumps almost 20 years old and they worked. However, they were very noisy. I had to put them on the thick foam and it still drove me crazy but I eventually got used to it. I placed an order and just went for the cheap one based on the reviews. I didn't need a heavy air pump. just a little powerful enough for at least 10 gallons and best of all quiet. When I turned on the pump I thought it was broken. No, it worked great and it's powerful. I'd say it's a bit strong for a 10 gallon. Too much if your fish needs calm water. The rubber feet are very well made and very soft. Really quiet. However, I still put it on top of my foam. Amazing phrase. Comes with everything you need. The only question is how long will it last? otherwise happy to buy!
