Review on πŸ”§ Channellock Fence Plier 85-10-1 by Kofi Wills

Unfortunately the surface seems quite unstable to corrosion

Quality tool. Unfortunately, the surface appears to be quite unstable to corrosion. In just a few months it developed light surface rust despite being stored in a metal tool box with other fencing tools. Made from high quality, tough and hardened steel. I have used Chinese versions of this tool which cracked and creased with use. It's worth paying $25 instead of $10 for a tool that does the job really well. One thing about this type of tool is that it can be a lot better than what it actually is. The pattern appears to have originated around 1910 when fence staples were in use and no one thought to improve the design. First of all, I can say that it could be much more useful: it could have the function of pounding on the strut, not just holding it. It can be built-in high-strength wire cutter, can be parallel jaw pliers, it can have wire crimping tool. Oh wait, I'm describing a $200 instrument made in New Zealand that I really like.

Pros
  • Clamp Function Starter and Clamp Remover
Cons
  • Unbelievable price
