Just wanted to add and say it's really really fast! On my PC it shows up as a drive from JMicron, a company known for making fast memory controllers. I tested it by copying a 42GB file from an old computer with a third party USB 3.0 (no native support for the main chipset) and it recorded a consistent 145MB/s. Transferred it to my new computer using USB 3.1 and it really copied at 340MB/s! When writing, the first 10GB tops out at around 340MB/s, but after that a drop to "only" 145MB/s is perfectly acceptable. Of course there are big brand models that aren't much slower and not much more expensive, but they also only have a USB-A connector. By switching to USB CI, I was able to watch a super high bitrate movie on my phone by connecting directly! Amazing ride!
