Review on πŸ“· Giottos MH1304-110C: Ultimate Precision and Stability with Professional Mini Ball Head by Eric Smithlin

Simple, no frills: tripod heads

Had to get it to at least experiment with my first Nikon D5100 monopod at this price point. Just wanted to clarify as some others have said that the piece of cork is plastic. The handle is also plastic with a rubber tip for your fingers. In the free state, the bullet is very smooth. I don't have a monopod yet, but I attached a camera with an 18-200mm lens and held it in my fist. This is the most forward weight I'll ever have and it held up well after I rotated it, but nowhere near the Hercules. This device fits in the palm of my hand and is very light. Extreme caution must be exercised with any camera with a large lens and such a ball head. For the price it will have a smaller tip and shoots or something, but I'd recommend spending the money on a Manfrotto head, even the basic 13lb head. Good overall, just not enough metal or size for a heavy DSLR with a heavy lens and flash. It should work well with a standard 18-55mm or fixed focal length lens.

Pros
  • 7 lb. resilience.
Cons
  • Big and chunky
