Man I love this thing!

As a blacksmith I can say they are very helpful in removing dross from forgings when you're finally done forging. This should not be used to descale the workpiece and then put it back on the fire as you will only allow more scale to build up and flake off. This is an oxidation layer that will always be there. Secondly. If you're claiming that meat block brush lets your hands get too close to the hot metal, remember this is a block brush used to remove crap stuck to a cutting board. It's just very useful in forging. As a blacksmith, you are obligated to make your own handle, be it wood or metal. It's not the companies fault because this thing is really meant to be used in the meat shop with people who smell like meat after a day's work.

Pros
  • Log Brush: Made from kiln dried hardwood for maximum lint retention
Cons
  • Could have gone for a newer model
