Review on Wall Control 8 Feet Pegboard Organizer by Dan Barrett

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Not bad for the money but the design could use some improvement.

They don't have recessed screw holes like traditional wall panels. Therefore, you must pass the mounting screws through the perforated plate itself. That would be fine except it means you can't mount directly onto the 16" center stud since the farthest pegboard holes are closer to 15" apart. If you use anchors you will get stuck on the edge of the bolt making it almost impossible. Not to mention that the wall plugs that came with it were too small for the screws that came with it. However, the setup can be salvaged if you mount the 2x4 on studs and then install the perforated plate onto the 2x4 (as others have suggested). So a few bucks for a 2x4 makes them great, although I'm only giving them 3* because I expected a better design from Wall Control, or at least instructions that say a 2x4 is required rather than behaving as whether this product could work by itself. . I'm totally impressed with all of their other products, but I don't think it would be too expensive for Wall Control to simply add recessed holes on the ends for the perforated panel to attach to the studs in the middle. A good option for the money though. They are strong and do their job.

Pros
  • Easy installation. Pegboard strips do not require a frame and attach directly to the wall or post. Mounting hardware included
Cons
  • High price
