Ideal for gentle and safe defrosting without a microwave. First, rinse the metal bowl with hot tap water and dry it. Then place the frozen food (meat, chicken, etc.) on a baking sheet, directly in the packaging. After 10 or 15 minutes, move or flip to a different spot on the baking sheet, depending on how thick it is. If it's thick, rinse the metal again with hot tap water. I have the original defroster bowl from the 1960's - the aluminum bowl is similar to this one but has two pieces of wood to lift it off the counter for more airflow. This is a great heat transfer application!
