Kohler added these supply line filters to prevent dirt from destroying the seals in their faucets. I understand. Sand, dirt and other things cause problems. This little filter snaps easily into place with no fuss. But buy at least two. Plan to change them every year. You'll know it's time for a change when your faucet drops to a trickle. Our first filter (included with the Kohler faucet) lasted less than two weeks before failing. I'm considering a whole house water filter instead, but I probably can't get rid of these little devils.
