Not sure if this is for beginners. I learned to sew as a kid, so I've never touched a sewing machine. However, my memory is rusty and I have a very hard time understanding the instructions and troubleshooting. It comes with a small instruction manual but I don't think there is much detail. Very general steps followed by photos that don't show good detail. The instructions only explain a few things. This morning the bottom spool got stuck while sewing a sweatshirt cuff, so I had to take it apart and spend hours trying to get the machine working again. I finally managed to get it working again, but I have no idea how. I started sewing the cuff back on and it got stuck again. I think the problem is with the thicker fabric because this morning I sewed with a thinner fabric without wrinkling. As it is not a standard machine or a well-known brand, it is very difficult to find better guides or advice on the internet or YouTube. Because it is such a small machine, everything is very compact and each part is very small, making it difficult to complete everything. I would also consider this machine "portable" for simple projects, but not necessarily "beginners". I expect a beginner machine to be easier to troubleshoot, have better instructions, and not get stuck as easily with just slightly thicker fabric.
