I was skeptical when I saw a handful of negative reviews where people were disappointed that the pan was not "leak proof as advertised”. Upon reading them individually (and seeing the review videos of water being poured into and subsequently leaking out the springform pan), I can only conclude that some individuals might not fully understand how springform pans work. Liquid NEVER GOES Directly INSIDE THE PAN. THE PAN IS SUPPOSED TO KEEP WATER OUT.I ordered the pan, and it arrived the next day. I used Claire Saffitz’s cheesecake recipe and her methods for leak prevention. (In her book she notes that generally springform pans will never be leak proof on their own, and that it is common practice to secure the pan with a barrier of foil and/or plastic wrap.)The cheesecake came out PERFECTLY, and not a single drop of water seeped into my crust. The cake unfolded smoothly and clean up was easy.
