I've only used it a couple of times and it works great. The wide temperature range is what I was looking for. It suits me as I cook a lot. A really nice surprise was that it uses 2 AAA batteries (not included) instead of button batteries like my other thermometers. I love the options for how to turn it on and off and I really don't care if it can talk to me. But maybe! I haven't checked the calibration yet, but I will. If not, I will update this review. I have no reason to believe this is incorrect. Calibration will not be adjusted if disabled. + or - 2 degrees at 500 degrees doesn't matter at all. And + or - 1 degree lower normal cooking temperatures doesn't give me heartburn. If this thermometer can stand me, then it's a clear winner. Not to mention the great price.
