Stop researching and just buy it. It also plays what you downloaded illegally.

If you are not too analytically adept, you can rely on this test. I bought this Blu-ray player because I wanted to play movies from my computer on my TV. I've been wanting to get one of these streaming boxes (like Roku) but due to the price and features I went with these. I also needed something to play .mkv movie files and it doesn't seem like many devices play them. After very extensive research, like that ridiculously obsessive look when you read every Amazon review and watch every YouTube demo, I found this babe to be the best value for money. That's great! The best thing about this device is that it works exactly how I want it to without any fuss. Don't waste time trying to make things work. Everything just works right from the start. Hooray! I have a Mac, so to set up a network from my computer to my Blu-ray player, I installed Eyeconnect version 1.6 (early version didn't work). This program is easy to use, works flawlessly and was immediately recognized by the Blu-ray player. Don't waste your time with other programs. They suck, just use these. I created a "shared" folder on my computer, put a bunch of media files in it and everything plays. You can even share your iTunes folder. I have a 10Mbps internet connection and use a Linksys G router (those amazing giant purple ones are 10 years old and never die) and it's fast enough to stream TV. .- An HDMI cable is not included, so get one if you want a very clear picture. - You have to play around with the resolution settings of your TV and Blu-ray player. He didn't automatically understand that I needed the highest available resolution for my TV. For anyone complaining about the remote, just buy a damn $5 USB mini keyboard and plug it in. It's on the remote but it doesn't bother. - The internet browser is terrible, don't use it. And why is this Blu-ray player awesome and you should buy it? - Plays any file I throw at it. - Play recordable DVDs in any format. ***You must close/exit the DVD when you burn it or it won't play*** - Has a USB on the front for connecting a keyboard, adapter drive, portable hard drive, etc. - You can use your smartphone in as a remote control.-You get youtube, hulu, netflix and amazon film streaming networks. Buy this for your significant other and customize it. They will love you forever.
