This is great for the Switch - I use it for travel instead of lugging around the huge official Switch dock. In other reviews, there are many people saying they have compatibility issues or their Switch is overheating. It's not this adapter's fault - it's just leaking voltage. So if you're using an old USB-C power adapter that doesn't provide the right voltage, yes you can lock up your console. It's not the adapter. The switch uses a non-standard USB-C power profile. This is tricky and depends on the hardware version of your switch. Google "switch charging voltage" and determine which power supply to use so you don't fry the switch (or use the official Switch power supply with this product). If you power it with the right power, this adapter works great!
