Review on Amazon Basics Chisel Carbon Hammer by Brian Stepp

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I was surprised to see a spatula with a chiseled end.

My other putty knives have the usual plain end to give a smooth end product. This tool does both. I was surprised that it had a chiseled end, although this is clearly visible in the photo; I am not disappointed that this is the case. So on the smooth back you have a really precise edge which can even be described as slightly rounded giving you the edge you need for spreading material and yet the face of the chisel is ground to a taper giving you a very practical advantage. I wouldn't call it a razor sharp chisel edge but somewhere in between. They've improved the grip a bit by giving you a rubberized material that's not slippery in the slightest; You could even call it a bit sticky so it helps stick to the surface of your hand. Thus, it is a non-slip grip. The tip of the plunger is made of metal, so it is designed to work with a hammer. This is a good size at 8 1/2 inches overall and has a hairline of over 1 1/4 inches. It will definitely become a favourite. If only I can keep it clean enough now.
