Pretty and functional to a point

These are cute but the magnets are not very strong. They only seem to stick through one or two layers of the super thin sheer fabric I wanted them for. Anything thicker and they do not stick and the ties slacken or fall down completely. And if I pull them so both ends can attach directly to each other? It'll hold, but the face is too heavy for the back and flops forward pointing towards the floor, which ruins the look. They'll work ok for partial tie backs or closed curtain decor, but for a fully cinched tie, they don't hold.
