I converted! in Pitcher Water Filter

For some reason I've never liked pitchers with water filters. I just assumed they weren't that effective and wouldn't filter out the taste of tap water. A friend of mine had the same machine at home and when I tasted the water I was pleasantly surprised that I had been wrong all these years. Before I bought a water jug, I always bought these 2.5 gallon water jugs. It was so painful to carry her on the back. Not to mention it took up a lot of valuable kitchen space. I didn't want to order this model based on the lid reviews. My friend said he never had any problems. When I made my purchase I had to send mine back! My device had the same issue when the lid fell off, which many complained about in their reviews. I later decided to take a chance and order a replacement as I really liked the taste of the water, the size of the pitcher and the cost. Luckily, my second block didn't cause me any problems. The lid can sometimes be moved a bit, but it doesn't open fully and doesn't fall off. Just don't overfill and keep an eye on the lid when pouring. I've read that this device doesn't really filter out lead, or maybe not at levels where they can legally advertise it. 1 star deduction for that. I live in an old house with old pipes which I'm sure were probably lead. I need to find a solution for this, but that's another question. One more note about the filter. Make sure it fits right! When I first used it, I didn't realize I had the filter set incorrectly. I found it snug in its place, but it turned out it wasn't! So I only drank partially filtered water. You can tell if it's set correctly by how it fits, but even if you fill the jug with water, the water should come out of the bottom of the filter a little more slowly. If it fills up very quickly, it's probably not installed properly!
