I got this thinking I could go to the bar without a purse in an outfit with no pockets and still be fine! However, I've discovered it's more of a product aimed at hiding stuff away that you can only really take out in the bathroom.Because of the way the closure works, it's not easy to discretely take stuff out and put it back in. It's more of a thing you'd use to keep an extra credit card, extra cash for the cab fare home, vallet key, house key, etc. This is not a wallet/purse replacement! However, I see the value in having the emergency place (so if your purse gets stolen like mine did, you'll still have a way to get home, unlike I did without the help of friends).
