Review on 🏻 Garmin fēnix 5 - Premium Multisport GPS Smartwatch with Sapphire Glass and Metal Band by Nick Singh

Revainrating 4 out of 5

TL; DR? No major issues, solid build, great technology

WiFi limited; Using BT to connect to phone app is all you need. Perhaps the free downloadable Garmin Express computer app will improve the usefulness of WIFI. Fur. So far GPS seems to be 90% accurate. Only a small section of the outdoor MTB trail wasn't closely followed. The battery life is amazing. I don't use the phone's notifications at all, and after a full week of daily running or cycling, BT syncing, and moderate backlight use, the remaining battery hit 80%. As far as I know there is no way to swap out the lithium battery so hopefully the rechargeability will justify that investment for a few more years to come. Just take a look. I will not leave the metal band. It looks high quality even though I didn't remove the protective film from the links. I use silicone tape. It's comfortable and thick enough to feel secure on my wrist. I recommend watching RIZKNOWS or DCRAINMAKER on YouTube. These guys helped me make a decision. Very happy with this watch. Solidly built. The watch software froze once after trying to sync it to my laptop over Wi-Fi after updating the Garmin Express desktop app this week. No data loss after restarting the watch. I now use the included USB cable to charge and sync with my laptop, ignoring the WiFi capabilities. Only deducted one star because Garmin decided to only offer a slate gray bezel/sapphire crystal with a metal band. I would have preferred just the black silicone strap so I'll add a step and sell the metal strap elsewhere.
