Broke almost immediately and there is no warranty or assistance on their support call center

I bought this after using my previous Zojirushi rice cooker for 20 years Used almost weekly for a long time and our family has worn it out. This worked great a couple of times, but sometime in the first few months the plastic piece on the inner lid broke, rendering it unusable. It happens, doesn't it? Then you call support and they support their product, right? Not right. After calling customer service, they informed me that they do not guarantee their products, but will sometimes replace an electrical part if it doesn't work within the first 30 days. For all other parts, you must pay for all parts and repairs. It doesn't matter if it breaks on first use or even comes straight out of the factory box with a defective part - no guarantees and you're on your own. I can't speak to other rice cookers or how many other people have had similar experiences with Zojirushi. My experience is pay $250 for a rice cooker it will break almost immediately and be directed to their website to buy parts and fix it yourself. BEWARE
