A year ago I wrote a review of this product and complained about the poor and reliable radio connection as the antenna was on the back of the board and therefore was shielded. Metal PC case. The connection works most of the time, but slowly. What annoyed me the most was that any slight change in the environment, such as a person nearby or a change in humidity, would cause the card to lose connection due to weak signal strength and poor call quality from the start . I was looking for an external antenna to solve this problem. Couldn't find it here or any of the local electronics stores. Now the search is finally over. I just purchased a TrendNet IA040 omnidirectional antenna with a 3.3 foot cable that plugs into the antenna connector on this card. What is the difference between day and night. This wireless card with TrendNet antenna now allows me to download at the full 3 Mbps speed promised by my cable ISP. For those of you who have struggled with the range and connection quality of this card due to the poor antenna design, an external antenna is definitely worth it.
